A documentary celebrating the life and career of Susan Boyle will air on BBC One Scotland and iPlayer as part of the festive schedule.

There’s Only One Susan Boyle will feature an interview with the singer along with insights from her friends and family.

Boyle became an overnight sensation when she auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, singing I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables.

Her rendition of the song blew the judges away and went viral around the world.

The programme, from Tern TV, will document Boyle’s childhood in Blackburn, West Lothian, to the audition that launched her music career.

Boyle said: “I’m delighted to be sharing my story in this new documentary with the team at Tern.

“My life changed overnight after Britain’s Got Talent, and it has been an extraordinary and unexpected journey ever since.

“I hope the programme reminds viewers to stay true to themselves and follow their dreams.”

Boyle’s debut album, I Dreamed A Dream, was released in 2009 and went to number one in the UK.

She has released a further six albums with her most recent, A Wonderful World, coming out in 2016.

There’s Only One Susan Boyle will air on December 31.
