Scotland Press
Accessibility
Last updated: 15 May 2026
We want Scotland Press to be usable by as many people as possible. Our aim is to provide a responsive, keyboard-accessible and readable news website that follows recognised accessibility good practice.
Our Approach
The site uses semantic HTML, skip links, keyboard-accessible navigation, visible focus states, responsive layouts, readable contrast, descriptive links where practical and alt text from the media database where available.
Standards
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines as a reference point and aim for WCAG 2.2 AA where practical for new templates and core journeys.
Known Limitations
Older imported agency content, legacy captions, third-party embeds and some supplied images may not always meet the same accessibility quality as native templates. We review reported issues and prioritise fixes that affect access to news content.
Report A Problem
If you need content in another format or find an accessibility issue, email hello@scotlandpress.co.uk with the page URL, the problem encountered, your browser or assistive technology if relevant, and the format you need.
