A patient has died and two ambulance workers and a student paramedic were taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and an ambulance.
A man has been arrested following the collision which happened on Balmore Road, Glasgow, at around 9pm on Tuesday.
Police Scotland said that the male patient who was in the ambulance later died in hospital following a “medical matter”.
The Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said one of its ambulances was en route to the hospital when the crash happened.
The patient on board was then taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary by another ambulance.
Two Scottish Ambulance Service workers were transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, and a student paramedic was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
The man police said was driving has been arrested in connection with an alleged road traffic offence.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The driver of the car, a 49-year-old man, was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and inquiries are ongoing.”
