A 21-year-old man who died after being assaulted during a disturbance in central Glasgow over the weekend has been named by police.
Daniel Colrain suffered serious injuries in the incident in Royal Exchange Square, which took place at about 3.05am on Sunday.
He was taken to hospital but died the following day.

A post-mortem examination took place on Tuesday.
Police said Mr Colrain’s family are being supported by specialist officers, and that they have asked that their privacy is respected at this time.
Police said nobody has yet been arrested in relation to Mr Colrain’s death but that “extensive inquiries” are ongoing.
A dedicated portal has also been set up where information about the incident can be submitted anonymously.
Another 21-year-old sustained minor injuries in the same incident, and police said a 20-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with this.
The 20-year-old will appear in court in due course.
Officers also arrested a 19-year-old man over the disturbance but he has been released pending further inquiries.
Detective Inspector Jonny MacKinnon, of Greater Glasgow CID, said: “Our thoughts remain with Daniel’s family and friends at what is an extremely difficult time for them.
“I would like to reiterate that no arrests have been made in connection with the death at this time and extensive inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“It is vital we get answers for Daniel’s family so I would ask that anyone with any information, and has yet to speak to officers, contact us on 101, quoting incident number 0494 of Sunday October 4 2026.”
Chief Inspector Stephen McManus said: “We understand this incident will be concerning for the community but please be assured specialist officers are carrying out extensive inquiries.
“Increased patrols will be carried out in the area and anyone with any concerns, or information, can approach these officers.”
