A man and a woman questioned in an investigation into the murder of a man in east Belfast have been released unconditionally.
Nicholas Gordon was assaulted in the Holywood Road area of the city on May 12 and died in hospital as a result of his injuries on Saturday.
A 24-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.
Meanwhile two men, aged 25 and 31, arrested in Scotland on Monday on suspicion of murder were being transferred to Northern Ireland.
A police spokesperson has urged anyone with information to contact officers.
“Following the death of Nicholas Gordon, two men were subsequently arrested in Scotland, on May 18, on suspicion of murder,” they said.
“The two men, aged 25 and 31, will be returned to Northern Ireland for questioning today.
“Our enquiries are continuing, and anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 101, quoting reference 224 of 12/05/24.”
