Russell Findlay has urged voters in Moray and the Highlands to unite around his party at the election as he accused the SNP of repeatedly betraying the regions.

The Scottish Tory leader issued a rallying cry to locals as he spent his last Saturday of the election campaign in the area ahead of polling day on Thursday.

Mr Findlay said only the Tories had held the “rotten” SNP government to account.

He criticised the party over its failure to dual the A96, the downgrading of maternity services in Elgin and Caithness and the introduction of “savage” cuts to council budgets.

Mr Findlay said Conservative MSPs had also been at the forefront of the fight against the Moray Flow-Park.

He said: “Moray and the Highlands have been forgotten, betrayed and disrespected by the SNP for two decades.

“I’m proud that Scottish Conservative MSPs stand up for these forgotten communities by holding this rotten SNP government to account.

“We relentlessly challenge their litany of failures, such as not fully dualling the A96, downgrading maternity services and starving councils of cash.

“Our Highland MSPs have also led opposition to the deeply unpopular Moray Flow-Park.

“Pro-UK voters across Moray and the Highlands can ensure that continued strong voice in Holyrood by voting for us on their peach ballot paper on Thursday.

“Peach votes for the Scottish Conservatives in these areas stopped an SNP majority in 2016 and 2021 – and they can do so again.”
