A 17-year-old boy has died in a crash in Fife, with a 20-year-old man later arrested in connection with the incident.
The crash took place on the B914 near Kelty at about 2.25am on Sunday.
Police said a yellow Volkswagen Golf and a blue Toyota Aygo were involved.
The 17-year-old driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. His family have been informed.
Those inside the Volkswagen were not at the scene when police arrived, with officers saying inquiries were made to trace them.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the crash.
Sergeant Lee Walkingshaw, of Police Scotland, said: “Our thoughts are with the 17-year-old male who has died.
“We are carrying out extensive inquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to contact police.
“In addition, anyone with dashcam footage from around the time of the incident is asked to get in touch as this may be able to assist.”
