Prosecutors say no proceedings will be taken against an Iranian man following an incident where two people allegedly tried to enter the Faslane naval base.
A 34-year-old man from Iran and a 31-year-old woman from Romania were arrested following the incident on March 19.
The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service has now said the 34-year-old will have no proceedings brought against him “at this time”.
Prosecutors have also confirmed they decided not to bring proceedings against the woman at an earlier stage, in April.
The prosecution service released a statement saying: “The procurator fiscal received a report relating to a 34-year-old man and an incident said to have occurred on March 19, 2026.
“After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, including the available admissible evidence, the procurator fiscal decided that there should be no proceedings taken at this time.
“The Crown reserves the right to proceed in the future should further evidence become available.”
The Royal Navy has previously said two people unsuccessfully tried to enter the base.
Faslane, which is formally known as HM Naval Base Clyde, is home to the UK’s nuclear deterrent.
The Royal Navy’s Astute-class attack submarines are also based there.
